Gmeinder Getriebe- und Maschinenfabrik GmbH is a well-established company in the field of development, construction, production and maintenance of axle drives.

Gmeinder offers their customers special competence, decades of experience, a high technical knowledge and excellent quality. This is being confirmed through the large amount of their axle gearboxes which “drive around” on all continents.

Over 50.000 axle drives for rail bound vehicles – designed to the highest technical standards – have been delivered to customers on all continents. A large number of gear boxes with over 50 years of operational life are still in daily use.

Furthermore over 5,000 Gmeinder diesel locomotives up to a capacity of 1,500 kilowatts have been delivered all over the world.

All products of Gmeinder are manufactured in accordance to ISO 9001:2000 and the requirements of the Q-1 qualification of the Deutsche Bahn.
